Even though embarking on their maiden continental campaign, Oliver Glasner's side are adapting at a rapid pace. Without key figures like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a comfortable result that all but guarantees them a place in the Conference League playoffs.
A further three points in their next fixture against Finnish KuPS should be sufficient to seal direct passage to the last 16, particularly after a previous stumble against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Seize the Opportunity
This match offered a chance for some of Palace's fringe talent to impress. Christantus Uche, making only his second start after arriving on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with a clinical goal. Striker Eddie Nketiah added a second, finding the net for the second game in succession.
The Shelbourne side that had concluded their league season were outmatched even for a largely rotated Palace outfit. The Londoners were already depleted by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with leg problems.
Dominance Established from the Start
Despite torrential rain in Dublin, Palace quickly established dominance. A slick move in the 11th minute, initiated by Daichi Kamada's incisive pass, let Nketiah to set up Uche for a straightforward tap-in.
Midfielder Adam Wharton came close soon after, driving a powerful shot over the bar. Nketiah then claimed for a penalty after racing into the area, but the official dismissed the protests.

The contest was as good as over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past some weak challenges before calmly slotting a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.
Following the break, coach Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to withdraw several individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse came close to scoring with his first touch, but saw his effort blocked.
The youngster was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot strike off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also missed a sitter of a chance, showing there is still scope for improvement in his game.
The only worry for Palace was a late knock to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to earn his senior debut, capping an otherwise positive night for the visiting side.
